Position Overview
Field inspection and laboratory testing role supporting construction materials and special inspection projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field sampling, inspection, and analysis.
- Perform field tests using specialized instruments and field test equipment.
- Verify testing, sampling, and inspection are performed consistent with guidelines and proper standard of care.
- Prepare daily reports and data sheets.
- Maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors.
- Perform routine field and laboratory tests and inspections on construction materials.
- Verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
- Support concrete, soils, masonry, asphaltic concrete, structural steel, post tension, and fireproofing inspection needs.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of construction materials testing experience.
- Experience with ACI Field Grade I, Nuclear Gauge soils testing, and Hot Mix Asphalt laboratory testing.
- Keep required certifications current.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- English speaking, reading, and writing required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
- Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Experience / Certifications
- ICC certification preferred.
- CWI certification preferred.
- NICET certification preferred.
- ACI certification preferred.
- CALTRANS certification in soils, concrete, and asphalt preferred or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
